It's official I've finished knitting the sweater. All that's left are the finishing touches:
- Weave in ends
- Block the sweater
- Sew sleeve seams
- Sew sleeve hems
- Sew front band facings to inside of front edge
- Sew zipper to front bands
- Fold and sew collar
Complete steps 1 to 7 and I'll have a finished sweater. So close.
Now to figure out how the hell to block a sweater.

You probably picked the most difficult sweater possible. Possibly the only way you could make it harder would have been to do colourwork. Looks fantastic though. Way to persevere.

My reflections on blocking: wet blocking generally makes things bigger... so for things that I'm already worried about the size, I usually just steam them with my iron to straighten out and set the stitches.
Things that need a good stretching (like lace or most mittens I make because I suck at making things the right size) always get a nice soak-and-pin.
For mittens I have a frame made from bent clothes hangers, for toques I use a likely bowl or a balloon inflated to the right size.
Be careful with ribbing. Soaking it often stretches it out, so it's not as nice. If I have to wet-block something with ribbing, I try not to wet the ribbing, but I do steam it.
You are a saviour Carly! I still have to weave in the loose ends which is tedious to say the least when I have such difficulty discerning between separate stitches.
I might have to bring the sweater to Friday night to get some pointers, because I'm worried about stretching the sweater too much.
